CENTRE FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION KERALA

The centre for Continuing Education Kerala (CCEK) is an autonomous body constituted by Government of Kerala, to provide job-oriented training to college students (i.e, Internal Participants) and public (i.e., External Participants) CCEK is headed by the director with his office in Thiruvananthapuram (under the ministry of education).

A sub-centre of CCEK was started in the Henry Baker College, Melukavu in 2018. This centre is controlled by a managing cum executive committee, with the Principal as its President. The day to day affairs of the centre is looked after by the Manager who is a teaching staff member, nominated by the committee.

Professional Diploma in Shipping & Logistics

Duration: 1 year

Course outline: Warehouse Management, Inventory Management, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, Shipping, Export & Import Documentation, Freight forwarding, Marketing using

Diploma in Computer Application (DCA)

Duration: 6 months

Course outline: Informatics, MS Office and Internet, Linux and Open Office, PC Techniques, Malayalam Computing

The courses are in good demand among the students and the public as these courses are job oriented. Moreover, the affordable course fee charged (considerably less than outside) is very helpful to those belongs to socially, economically and educationally lesser privileged communities. Therefore the courses conducted here with affordable fees is of immense relief to them and their parents.

  • DCA Diploma in Computer Application

Computer knowledge is essential in all types of jobs. It will give added weightage to the job seekers. This curriculum is framed so as to impart theoretical and practical knowledge in computer applications such as windows, Linux , word processing, spreadsheets, Presentation, Internet, Open Office, DBMS, Malayalam computing, etc. The course Diploma in Computer Applications (DCA) of CCEK is approved by Government of Kerala vide GO(Ms)No.37/2012/P&ARD dated.16/7/2012 of the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department, Government of Kerala as a qualification for appointments through Kerala PSC. Considering the widespread demand for the course, CCEK proposes to offer the DCA course across the state by establishing new sub-centres among the Arts & Science Colleges.
